My first Lexus

KBB’s review was spot on except for a couple of places I beg to differ. I have the 250h and the cargo area has no lip to speak of, because of the battery pack, I suppose. I took a 300 mile trip with one passenger, two full sets of golf clubs and a large suitcase. One golf bag fit across the folded down back seats ( from door to door). One set lay front to back and there was plenty of room for the suitcase and everything else. We drove through the Cumberland mountains at 70 mph, and averaged 42.5 mpg. The car is comfortable and quite responsive. My only complaint was the infotainment system and controls, There were over 50 buttons, knobs, and piano keys. Most on the center stack and console. There were 17 piano keys handling the h-vac alone. Some were quite hard to read, day or night. There was no built-in navigation system. I had to use Apple CarPlay and I did not like it. Please be aware that if you use the Apple CarPlay, most of your voice commands are nullified. The computer mouse located on the console seemed to be difficult for me to use. It seemed insensitive at times and too sensitive other times. None of these criticisms should detract from And otherwise excellent car. Although it is the lowest price Lexus, they did not skimp on anything inside or out. I am a senior citizen and perhaps some of my problems stem from that. In other words I am cutting this car some slack. I love it and the Lexus brand.…

We have owned large Toyota and Lexus SUVs for the past 25 years. While looking for a smaller SUV we looked at the Lexus NX. Next to it in the showroom was the UX Hybrid. I never thought I would be interested in such a small car but we bought one. After having driven it for 3,000 miles I really like it. The mileage is about 36 mpg, twice what our GX gets. The performance is more than adequate for merging and getting up to speed. Many reviews say that the performance is poor but I disagree. Interior room is surprisingly open for the front seats and the technology is amazing. Lexus quality and reliability are well known and justified. This is a great vehicle for running around town and we actually like it on the highway, too.…

Lexus hit a homerun in this first ever model. The exterior is just as Lexus envisions it's future - distinctive and in your face. Though much criticism has been leveled as to the model's horsepower, my Hybrid UX250h has plenty to be proud. This includes possessing enough power to tour, haul or perform both tasks nicely. It certainly does the job on the road, but maybe not on the track. The workmanship goes without saying as most of Lexus models have done over the years. What makes this one a singular standout is the technology. The features that track your driving patterns, keep you in your lane, make you warm, as well as monitor your vehicle's overall condition are first-class. Put another way, it offers a peak at semi-autonomous driving and does it well. Another item to consider might be its oft criticized Infotainment system master control. Given only that one other Navigation master type is in the industry, the control pad should be relatively easy to govern. It's just like any laptop. The 10+ inch Navigation system has HD-clarity and has easy to use settings. This goes to make the driving experience one of the best in this segment. Incorporated in it is the sound system which is quite good as are voice over controls. Mapping concise and clear, Climate controls thoughtful, app offerings useful, and other elements sophisticated. Then, there is the mileage. At 40+ miles per gallon, all the more reason to try it out.…
